September 23, 2024 – Last Monday, the SIA Student Government (SSG) organized a Movie Day activity, bringing together students for a fun-filled day of films, snacks, and fundraising. The activity aimed to foster community spirit and raise funds for future SSG projects, offering students an enjoyable cinematic experience while supporting their school’s initiatives.
Held in two sessions, the event divided participants into two groups: elementary and secondary students. Tickets were priced at $5 each, which included complimentary drinks and popcorn for every attendee.
Elementary students gathered in Room B1 to watch the animated hit Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The film’s unique animation style, blending traditional comic elements with modern techniques, captivated the young audience, leaving them fascinated by the vibrant visuals and compelling storytelling.
Meanwhile, secondary students enjoyed The Greatest Showman in Room B2. This musical film, filled with powerful performances and inspiring songs, resonated deeply with the students. Its portrayal of underdogs overcoming prejudice and adversity struck a chord, making the audience empathize with the characters’ emotional journeys.
The day was a great success, with students leaving the event with smiles on their faces, thrilled by the memorable movie experience. The event not only provided entertainment but also contributed to the SSG’s fundraising efforts, making it a win-win for all involved.
