June 10 marked a significant day at SIA as the school hosted its final spoken word event for the 2024 school year. The event saw enthusiastic participation from both the elementary and secondary departments. The secondary department was divided into two categories: beginners and advanced. The performances were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, including Mr. Joe, the school principal, along with Teacher Jewel and Teacher Heather.
After months of preparation, the participants took to the stage, showcasing their hard work and dedication. The top 10 performers from each category had their performances recorded and sent to English coaches in America for further evaluation, where the top three would be chosen. Those not selected would perform again the next day.
The atmosphere was electric as the results were announced. In the elementary category, Paul Liang secured 3rd place, Michelle Wu clinched 2nd place, and Haram Kim was crowned champion.

In the beginners category, Rebekah Lee took 3rd place, while Edison Shu, with his original composition, "Lord, Please Bring Us Peace", earned 2nd place. Sarah Pok was declared the champion with her rendition of "The Wall" by Jon Jorgensen.

For the advanced category, Rachana Chak earned 3rd place, Peter Santik impressed everyone with his rendition of "I Can Handle It!" by Ptr. Steven Furtick, securing 2nd place, and Junior Radaniva touched the crowd with his impactful piece "Lost for Words" by Michael Agnew, winning the championship.

The event highlighted the incredible talent and dedication of SIA students, leaving the audience in awe of their performances. As the school year draws to a close, the participants' efforts and achievements will be remembered and celebrated.
